We’re currently recruiting experienced FLT Counterbalance Drivers to join a busy and expanding FMCG manufacturing site near Carlisle.
This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work with genuine long-term prospects. With peak season underway and continued investment across the site, our client is strengthening their logistics and warehouse team. High performers will have the opportunity to move into permanent positions.
With annual earnings exceeding £40,000 — and additional uplift available through overtime and premium shifts — this is a role that combines stability with strong earning potential. The Role As part of the warehouse and production support team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping operations running efficiently and safely.
Your duties will include:
Operating a Counterbalance forklift truck safely and in line with site procedures
Removing finished goods from production lines
Transporting stock into designated warehouse locations
Loading and unloading pallets
Assisting with palletising and general warehouse duties
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
This is a fast-paced manufacturing setting, so confidence on the truck and strong awareness of health & safety are essential.
Previous experience within a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred
Comfortable working 12-hour rotating day and night shifts
Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Solid numeracy and literacy skills
A proactive attitude and willingness to support wider operations will set you apart.
Shift Pattern
12-hour continental shifts
4 on / 4 off rotation
Days: 06:00 – 18:00
Nights: 18:00 – 06:00
Flexibility to work both shifts required

Pay & Benefits
Equivalent annual salary circa £40,000
Realistic OTE of £42,000+ including overtime and bonuses
Enhanced weekend rates:
Saturday premium rates from £20+ per hour
Sunday premium rates from £27+ per hour
Ongoing work with opportunity for permanent contracts
