Job Description
We are looking for a Logistics Manager!
Supporting our client who are situated in the heart of Penrith, a well-established family owned producer and distributor; now require an experienced individual to join their team due to expansion.
 
Overview:
With proven Warehouse Supervision and Transport Management in place, the Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations, have overall responsibility for ensuring the efficient operation of the warehousing and transport functions, and develop the function to the next level in line with the growing needs of the business.
 
Key responsibilities will vary; however the main goal is to strategically plan and manage logistics, warehousing and transportation. This will include the overall management of those departments whilst being the point of contact for suppliers on contract negotiations and service delivery.
It is imperative that to drive the business forward that you look to improve and implement new processes whilst maintaining metrics and analysing data to assess performance and implement improvements. Legal and Health & Safety compliance will also form part of your daily activities.
 
The ideal candidate:
You will be able to demonstrate a strong background in Logistics, Warehousing and Supply Chain with previous experience of successful distribution and logistics management, including staff management.
Up to date Transport Manager CPC is preferred, although training can be offered, and strong interpersonal skills, being able to build relationships both internally and externally across a range of stakeholders at all levels is essential.
 
Salary is dependent upon experience and open to negotiation.
 
This is a 7 day operation business, however working hours will be full time, predominantly office based across the normal office hours. Some flexibility may be required.
