Riverside Recruitment are looking to recruit a Quality Assurance Engineer to work within the nuclear sector on behalf of our client based in West Cumbria.
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be working within an award-winning team for an industry-leading company, being directly involved in the achievement of the site’s quality objectives and will be expected to perform all responsibilities with the achievement of Customer-focused Quality as the primary priority and goal.
You will be working at all levels within the company, to assure the day-to-day implementation and maintenance of the Company’s Quality Management Systems, providing quantitative and qualitative data and analysis on quality issues and performance metrics.
36.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Qualifications and Experience:
Ideally you will have the following qualifications or similar:
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
- CQI and IRCA Certified ISO 14001 Lead Auditor
- Health and Safety OHSAS 18001 Lead Auditor
The role will require you to participate in systematic problem-solving techniques to assess systems and procedures to identify, resolve and communicate root causes of non-conformances, participating in robust resolution of these non-conformances to prevent future recurrence. Additionally you will be responsible for providing independent oversight and reviews of deliverables throughout the purchasing lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be responsible for assuring and maintaining the quality management systems and will be responsible the overall quality performance of the company’s direct suppliers.
You will be assisting management with development of quality plans, quality system processes and quality program tracking and analysis (using recognised tools such as PPAP, FMEA, 8D etc) and will work closely with purchasing operations to support them in identifying and supplier quality system deficiencies and implementing revised methods and processes. You will perform internal audits on our supplier quality assurance processes and internal quality system, acquiring and analysing data to facilitate supplier analysis, vendor rating and improvement.
The role will involve liaising with both suppliers and internal customers with regards to purchasing activities, with the responsibility and authority to correct errors with suppliers who are providing components to the production facilities.
You will be responsible for managing supplier quality concerns including initial containment at the site, 8D reporting, root cause investigation and close-out of corrective actions and will be responsible for leading immediate containment & improvement activity at the supplier's site in the event of major quality concern.
As a Quality Assurance Engineer you will be involved in supplier visits, undertaking supplier quality assurance audits and investigations, providing support to the Engineering Quality Team during customer inspections and audits, supporting purchasing throughout the supply chain.
You will be responsible for new product introduction, assisting in the development of Bill of Materials (BOM) for new products from a quality point of view. Additionally, you will be responsible for facilitating and supporting the development and introduction of any planned new product. Relevant Experience and Knowledge
You should have experience undertaking supplier or client visits and should have experience working in a purchasing environment. A fundamental understanding of the manufacturing industry and new product introduction is essential.
Applicants should have prior experience of assuring and maintaining Quality Management Systems and be able to carry out Health & Safety audits.
You will need to be customer focused and have good communication, verbal and written skills.
Lead Auditor Qualifications (Quality, Environment and Health and Safety) are desirable
