Position Overview: As a Warehouse Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse facility in Carlisle. You will be responsible for various tasks involved in the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining high standards of efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:- Goods Receipt: Receive incoming goods, accurately check and record deliveries, and ensure they are stored in the appropriate locations within the warehouse.
- Order Picking: Use hand-held devices or picking lists to accurately pick and pack orders for dispatch, ensuring the correct items, quantities, and quality standards are maintained.
- Stock Management: Conduct regular stock checks, monitor inventory levels, and assist in the organisation and optimisation of warehouse space.
- Quality Control: Perform quality checks on incoming and outgoing goods, reporting any discrepancies or damages to the relevant personnel.
- Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety regulations and procedures, including the safe operation of warehouse equipment and the correct handling of hazardous materials.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and orderliness within the warehouse, ensuring aisles, storage areas, and work spaces are kept tidy and free from obstructions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues and supervisors to achieve daily operational targets and contribute to the overall success of the warehouse team.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process optimisation, efficiency improvements, and cost savings within the warehouse operation.
Requirements:- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and move heavy objects safely.
- Availability to work full time Monday - Friday.
