Do you have a background in Fleet management? Are you looking to make the next step in your career with a leading UK company?
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Compliance Manager to join one of the UK's leading haulier companies. We're looking for individuals with excellent customer service skills, a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects alongside the day-to-day management of the business.
Managing up to 40 vehicles across several UK sites from the Carlisle head office, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning and co-ordination of the fleet, the maintenance of vehicles, and liaising with multiple sub-contractors on an ongoing basis. You will be required to review and improve compliance and safety in operations across the business with a zero-tolerance approach and will be leading incident and accident investigations in-line with RIDDOR reporting. In addition, you will be responsible for handling driver disciplinaries and overseeing staff training and development.
Reporting directly to the Directors you will be responsible for contributing towards continued organic growth, assessing new development opportunities and submitting KPI reports on a regular basis. You should have the ability to advise on industry-wide developments such as legislative changes and implement measures to meet any required changes within the sector.
You will need to have a strong background in logistics and HGV fleet management, and you will ideally have a good understanding of the haulage sector. You will need to be compliance and policy focused, with a passion for providing the highest level of customer service.
It is key that you hold a Transport Manager CPC and HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence. You will preferably have knowledge of FORS accreditation and will need to have a working knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation.
Operating as a family business, our client is a leading UK haulier with over 50 year's operating. Over the past 10 years the company has expanded across multiple UK sites, with further growth planned over the coming years.
